SEC to temporarily ban short selling, WSJ reports

In another extraordinary intervention to arrest market volatility, the US Securities and Exchange Commission has announced it plans to temporarily ban short selling of all stocks, the Wall St Journal has reported.

Earlier British authorities banned short selling of financial stocks.
