We source this data from www.realestate.co.nz [1]  who supply it based on their regional definitions. It is a seasonally-adjusted series.

It tracks the number of weeks of sales the current listing volumes represent.

The listings data is from www.realestate.co.nz [1] and the sales data is from the REINZ.
