South Canterbury changes auditors

South Canterbury Finance announced it has replaced its Timaru-based auditors WoodNorth Myers with nationwide accounting firm Ernst & Young.

    Why would you change what is I presume a longstanding business relationship in an environment when such a change is likely to raise eyebrows? I wonder if it is for similar reasons as to why Fonterra changed its share valuer?

    They fiddled when that went down too.

    Auditors are not very ERNEST or YOUNG or effective, in my experience with them here in South Canterbury.

    No matter how you dress it up.

    We are certainly gonna PAY.

    I wonder if the $800 odd million that the government has allocated to future finance/bank company collapses, is going to come close to covering all the companies that possibly could fail, before the guarantee runs out. The next 12 months is going to be very very interesting.
