Bernard Hickey details the key news overnight in 90 seconds at 9am in association with ASB, including news that US home resales rose a surprising 10.1% last month, which helped boost Wall St overnight.

However, a Federal Reserve President James Bullard also said the Fed may have to keep buying bonds or printing money for longer, Bloomberg reported. This drove the US dollar down and pushed up the gold price to a record US$1,174/oz.

The New Zealand dollar nudged over 73 USc as the US dollar continued to weaken. Meanwhile net migration figures out yesterday showed net migration rose, mainly because fewer New Zealanders are leaving to live in Australia.

Meanwhile, Hell Pizza advertised their ‘Greed’ pizza outside Mark Hotchin’s Paritai Dr mansion, Stuff reported. He prefers Pizza Hut apparently.

    He prefers Pizza Hut?

Crikey…..he’s got no heart, no conscience, and now no tastebuds!

Kudos to Hell- Hotchin & Watson haven’t been dragged through the mud half as much as they deserve.

Those US home re-sales up 10 points is a big surprise all right…..the volatility of those month on month figures don’t stack up right…..

If Hanover do take legal action against Hell then investors have yet another reason to be furious with Hanover. What a waste of money when clearly it is true.

  3. Rob Says:

Good that Hell is actually doing something. What ever happened to free speech. I don’t know what grounds they could sue on.

  4. Alex Says:

    Prefers Pizza Hut? Yeah Right.

  5. Rob Says:

The ad has nothing to do with ‘Hanover’, it is about two individuals. Therefore why are they using Hanovers bank account (Investors money) to look at legal action against Hell pizza. Surely theIRD should be looking into that.

I would agree that Hells pizzas aren’t that nice.

I would imagine the only recourse Hotchin & Watson would have would be use of their images without permission. The Photos themselves might also be copyright images.
Could they sue for defamation? who knows, that would require them to have a reputation worth protecting in the first place.

He should sue and make himself look like more of a scourge on humanity. There really needs to be a main name and shame site for New Zealand. It is amazing how such a small country can tolerate so much bad behaviour. I would say that greed theft domestic violence appear to be acceptable here. or maybe nzers are just spineless about doing something about it.

I think anyone can use a photo of someone else, if they took it or purchased the right to use it.

If they are going to sue for defamation, what has that got to do with Hanover, and why is Hanover involved with it.

Not really – try taking a pic of Usain Bolt and then using it to advertise something.
