Few surprises in the line-up to fight the election revealed by the National Party

Few surprises in the line-up to fight the election revealed by the National Party

The National Party has released its list of candidates and rankings.

It was a largely predictable list, with one notable newcomer being chartered accountant Nancy Lu, who comes on as a list only candidate with a fairly high ranking of 26.

A notable elevation up the list is West Coast Tasman candidate Maureen Pugh, once infamously referred to by then leader Simon Bridges in a private, but then leaked phone call, as "[expletive deleted] useless". Pugh moves up to 19 from 44 as of the last election.

Two places are yet to be confirmed on the list as National has not yet finished the selection process for the Auckland Central and Rangitata seats.

(NOTE: After initial posting of this list, Megan Hands was subsequently chosen for Rangitata and Emma Mellow for Auckland Central.)

All party lists are here.

Became disinterested with National as soon as John Key mentioned or muttered with a straight face that we should open back up the country to foreign buyers. There's already enough 'residents' buying up the place.

It's their right as they are residents.. what's the issue?
