Barfoot and Thompson reports average rents fell NZ$13/week to NZ$421/week in April, but still 5.7% up from year ago

Auckland's biggest real estate and rental management chain, Barfoot and Thompson, has reported its average weekly rent fell NZ$13 a week to NZ$421 in April from a record March.

But it reported the average was still NZ$ 23 or 5.7% above where it was a year ago.

“The decline from March’s all time high of $434 was anticipated, as demand for property normally quietens in April,” said Barfoot and Thompson Managing Director Peter Thompson Managing Director of Barfoot and Thompson.

Earlier this week Barfoot and Thompson reported a fall in sales volumes and prices for property sales in April from March.

Rents and house prices are firmer in central Auckland than in the fringes and in provincial regions.

well floating rates haven't gone up 5.7% Mr Rob Of The North have they? so it's even better than it was when we called it and said the game was back on.

looks like you're gunna have to do some more mahi up in those far north hillsides and buy your way into the property market with those 'of the north' sticky greenback dollars - but hey if that doesn't work out you can get caught and live rent free courtesy of the corrections department...

stop sipping out of the top if someone tells you your glass is half full. unless that's where you get all that hot air from...

you and i can not change the game, we can only choose to be a spectator or a participant in the game of life... businesses included

"Oddly no media interest in falling rents"

We have a rental property that is leased to Housing New Zealand and the weekly rent has just been increased from $465 to $490, about 5.4%. One data point doesn't prove anything, but we are happy with the increase.

And why are we not having the used car salesman to provide some balance and also provide some perspective to the comments.

Balanced reporting; yeah right

MY KINGDOM for a WHOREs.

A royal flush, a royal send off and a royal 100 gun salute and a royal roasting.

My suggestion is...

MR KEY FOR KING....

And a square on the hype-potty-news to start...... as I like to digress.....just a tad..

And the theorum is that the dwindling taxpayer will pay any amount for rentals to house the  exploding beneficiaries population (ABOVE)... in luxury befitting their status as the saviours of this fair nation as they spend our way to their success.

We now need a ROYAL RESIDENCE too ...is my theorum....a STATE HOUSE...to end all state houses.

My vote is KING JOHN...the first.....the right royal...the proverbial ruler.

(not a foot, but a good six inches)

Whilst the poor taxpayer workers can now pay the elite to be protected from same bludgers as they now have ample time and energy to apply their nefarious role in life to the full....mostly while bashing their kids to death and bashing the public purse to death in the meantime.

No small wonder that the police budgets cannot cope cos neither Minister has any idea of budgetting......Welfare or Police and for that matter any MANA related trivial pursuits gain to the tune of 800K....over budget, which would pay for a right ROYAL MANSION..

It must take a lot of royal gumption to borrow your way to success so ably and so resolutely and all in a few days work a year.

What bothers me a tad is.....

The only recourse is to borrow more from overseas, against the possibility that Mr Key may travel  overseas to speak to the fundraisers that he has ably paid 800+ million for and now feels entitled to a small amount of protection as he has threatened all rorts of this nature must CEASE, cos he has to buy a ROYAL BASE.

We must ALL also save our way to success, so the taxpayer will get some of his TAX back and put it in KIWISAVER.

Little did the KIWISAVER, not know, that the elite can spend royally,  faster than they can SAVE.

Delusions of grandeur......I call it.....A monarchy is in the May-king.

Ironic that some can benefit from a dwindling resource like tax, but not the primarily elderly pensioners who cannot keep the thieving mits off their OWN taxable pensions as Mr Key goes about his daily photo opportunity and radio broadcasts BOASTING about his largesse of taking a protection squad elite force to Hawaii, rather than just keeping a low profile as we TAXPAYERS do when paying our own way in life.

Maybe he is searching for a ROYAL ABODE.

I understand tax deductions are allowable should he have EMPLOYED a goon squad to protect his EGO in Hawaii at his own expense...not ours.

(a small aside...Wonder if they have non-taxible gains in Hawaii).

Surely he could have saved our elite to protect the innocent, not the guilty PARTIES of partying hearty........home and away game in his own ROYAL MEWS....or is that muse..

Anyone who needs to be advised to the tune of 800 million on how to run a country should not be employed by the state to get us in a worse state than we were before he arrived.

A person who knows how to bend the rules to make 40 million, cannot possibly need such POOR ADVICE at such great cost to the taxpayer.

(Maybe a kingdom is better than a thief-dom....damn spell checkers not working again....)

The poor invalid taxpayer and the poor Christchurch community and yes...even the poor Insurance  models we bail out and the poor investment decisions involved and the bailed out criminals of this great nation, would be grateful for a response to my key question.....

KING JOHN..........

Any response, other than a smile and wave and a flouting of simple COMMON SENSE.

Where can I get me some of this advice and protection....pick me...Pick me...can I be be Chief Courtier and Bearer of the Royal Seal....and privvy to the royal flush.

I do not THINK that an ACT  of GOD would be brash enough to refuse us our  fair share of the largesse afforded to those dimwits who actually do not work, but pork.

It must be a dream job being acting PRIME MUNNYSTIR...or even a CHIEF COURTIER....I am not fussy....anyone can act....and some do....and get away with it.

COs I am sure I could spend even more, without even trying and I am damn sure I could keep up with the Royals, given a bit of PRACTISE..... over again and again and again, with the photo ops....with the cops....and the guns and the fancy cars and fancier facinators he mixes with.

Cos even a commoner may wed a PRINCE, it is a true fairy story he is still living.

But this is my fairy story, so bear with me SUM more.

BUTT a PRIMEMINNY-STIR, only  has a simple police force and a simple Police Minister  to save his bacon, with another fairy story....better than  GRIMMS FAIRY TALES....to spin this one...this time....by me......

BUDGET BLOW OUT........you a'int seen nothing yet....I will warrant....and warrant ROYALLY.

Maybe as I suggest our leader needs his own NATION......not National to run, that is obviously way too mundane...now.........................it would appear.

Cos once you have had a taste of HAWAII at the taxpayers expense there is no going back....

IS THERE RODNEY???????????.........The hide of the man and his men-tor.(s).

ACT one scene two...the betrayal....a brash new dawn. The dawn of a new era.

A take over bid...

Take note...take heed, take a BMW, take  anything you can get.....then bail as fast as ye can.

Cos New Zealand is ripe for the pickings, but no small notes, only big noters need apply.

PICK ME...PICK ME....or not.

A royal pardon may be needed.

BBBBBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

But I think........NOT.

Off with his head....tis treason.....ye speak.

Lucky for me the Tower is full of BEEFEATERS....not LAMB EATERS.

BAAAAAAAAAAA....ye sheeples.

Ya have been taken for a ride.....again.

ROYALLY........plucked...

And a pheasant plucker ...at that.
