Treasury successfully sell $2 bln worth of 2027, 4.50% Government bonds at a yield of 4.68%

The New Zealand Debt Management Office has announced the syndicate of ANZ (NZ), BNZ, Deutsche Bank (NZ) and UBS (Australia) have successfully sold $2bln worth of NZ Government bonds maturing in 2027.

The bonds carry an annual intererst rate of 4.50% and were priced at a yield of 4.68%, approximately 21 basis points above the current issue of 2023 NZ Government Bonds.

Treasury had earlier indicated a range of 21 to 25 basis points above the 2023 NZ Government Bond was expected. 

Further issuance of the new 2027 nominal bond will not occur prior to September 2014.

The next NZ Government Bond tenders will be on 10 July, 2014 for $200 mln worth of Inflation Indexed bonds and 17 July, 2014 for $200 mln worth of Nominal bonds.
