WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 is up just +0.1% today after giving up morning gains, rising +1.0% over the past five days. Over the last six months, the index has slipped -1.6%, though it remains up +8.6% year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
A total of 43 companies posted gains, led by SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #35) and Infratil (IFT, #4), both up +4%. SkyCity has fallen -2% over the last five days and is down -34% year-on-year. Infratil rises +8% over the past week but remains -5% lower year-on-year. Tower Limited (TWR, #41) climbs +2%, gaining +6% over the past month and surging +81% over the year. Oceania Healthcare (OCA, #44) also adds +2%, though it’s down -6% for the month. Year-on-year, Oceania is up +13%.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
On the downside, 33 companies declined. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) dropped -5%, extending a -3% loss over the last five days and falling -30% year-on-year. Gentrack (GTK, #25) slipped -4%, now down -6% in the past week and -15% over six months, though still up +14% for the year. Sky Network Television (SKT, #46) fell -2% today, despite rising +3% over five days and +10% over the past month, with a +17% annual gain. Goodman Property Trust (GMT, #15) also shed -2%, with its year-on-year performance now down -9%.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Contact Energy (CEN, #7) shows mass market electricity and gas sales of 365GWh, down from 413GWh in May 2024, with a higher netback of $145.13/MWh (vs $130.41/MWh). Wholesale electricity sales totalled 768GWh, while generation rose to 842GWh (from 821GWh). Electricity and steam net revenue increased to $169.49/MWh (vs $163.31/MWh), with generation costs down to $49.26/MWh (vs $61.80/MWh). Te Huka 3 project progress reached 99.7% of its monthly target, while BESS lagged at 70% vs 79% target. Otahuhu Q3 2025 futures prices fell to $182.25/MWh as of 10 June (from $199 at May-end and $335 in April). South Island storage sits at 87% of mean and North Island at 139%, while Clutha catchment inflows for May were 100% of mean. Contracted gas volume for the next 12 months is 3.8PJ.
Argosy Property (ARG, #30) has set the strike price for its Dividend Reinvestment Plan at $1.0396 per share for the dividend payable next week on Wednesday the 25th of June. This price includes a 2% discount applied to the market rate.
