Housing report: Stable home loan approvals suggest housing boom talk premature

Posted in News

Click here to see today's video.

Bernard Hickey delivers a housing report in association with ASB, including a look at how home loan approvals have been basically flat for the last three months. The spike seen in March and April has now petered out and the only move evident is into higher value properties by those with significant amounts of equity.

Bernard, Bernard, Bernard... Why oh

Bernard, Bernard, Bernard...

Why oh why do you keep on trying to analyze market data, BEFORE it comes out? Again, you post a report on the "spring boost" before it typically occurs. Look back in your data at the number of approvals, and you can clearly see that EVERY year they dip off during winter, and don't start to rise until about Oct-Nov. We have just started Oct!!!

You have to wait for another 2 months before you can see any effect of a spring boost. Are you just desperate for material? Does the year move THAT slowly that you have to do TWO housing reports analyzing the spring boost BEFORE it occurs?

The only valid and interesting part of the video was the bit on the average $ approved.

THE CRAFAR INTERVIEW : RE

THE CRAFAR INTERVIEW : RE CLOSE UP.
What is wrong with you guys? You are talking about NZs largest industry, and seriously....take that away from us, and this country will crumble.
Give these people a break......they have good intentions, and have provided employment for hundreds.......which I must add, some of which are blinking hard working, complying dairy farmers.

"Give these people a break"……

"Give these people a break""¦"¦
They have, the receivers are in and now the cafters can go on holiday...

"they have good intentions, and have provided employment for hundreds"
Good intentions never compensate for incompetence..and only leads to bad training, further incompentance in the industry, and eventually lads to further unemployment

Think it thru...
