Hi Alex/Bernard,
congrats on the award.

On another subject, is there any chance you can put an up or down arrow on the interest rates page to show when a change is made if it is up or down. At present you show it in bold but it does not show if it is an increase or decrease.

cheers

To David, Bernard, Alex and

To David, Bernard, Alex and the team,

Congratulations - you have proved that what you do not need in this new Google empowered world is bricks and mortar or armies of journalists.

What you need is passion, tenacity and smarts, matched with openness and authenticity - and the basics of an open source blogging platform.

The future looks bright - your guys better get some shades!

Congratulations David! I know it's a much bigger team now, but remember how small it all used to be. What a great achievement from the days of the office in your back yard!

Many thanks to you all

Many thanks to you all for your kind comments.

We (David Chaston, Bryan Spondre, Suhaimi Mohamad, Alex Tarrant and I) have so much fun publishing and talking all about Interest rates and house prices.

But it's our community that make us really fly. Our best ideas, some of our best information and some of the best fun we have is reading the comments contributed by yourselves. I'm sure this award is largely due to the strength of the community we have here that talks and debates all about the economy, interest rates, property and finance.

We love the little gems, the anecdotes, the passionate arguments and all the suggestions you make. Keep them coming.

Doug - Many thanks. We're working on the edit function and hope to get it back shortly.

Feel free to comment on any story with suggestions for improvements We're thrilled that so many people find our site useful and welcome any ideas you have. We get more than 100 comments a day and read them all.

Onwards and upwards.

cheers
Bernard

Well done David, Bernard, Bryan

Well done David, Bernard, Bryan and Suhaimi. It's amazing what you are achieving - not only for the quality of what you are delivering but also for how you are showing a sustainable path forward inside an industry that has some serious economic issues.

Kudos also to the NBR folk - they have really lifted their game in response, and we all benefit from that.

Many thanks Lance. You're right

Many thanks Lance. You're right about competition. It's a wonderful thing. NBR also has comments on every story. This is something all New Zealand news and commentary websites should do.

Well done to all the

Well done to all the team!

I've been visiting your site almost since you started it and think it's great you're now getting well deserved recognition.

Can I suggest, in case you're thinking of changing the site significantly, please think again.

I love the fact that your site is simple to navigate, fast and in comparison I find your 'competitors' sites very cluttered "“ I think they have forgotten a basic rule, which is: white space is good.

Keep up the great work.

p.s. I don't know why people are asking for the edit function as it was available for me (I just used it to add this p.s.)

Bernard and team - well

Bernard and team - well done. Credit where credit is due.

I only started using your site after suffering a badly sprained ankle early this year. I had thought blogging while trapped by a couple of bags of ice would be a temporary thing. However, I continue to find the collective efforts very worthwhile, and the many interesting contributions of guest writers and other bloggers. I find the discussions useful and enjoyable. All good, keep up the good work.

Hi Dazza, Yes we're working

Hi Dazza,

Yes we're working on the TD pages (currently do it for mortgages). One of the many things on Bryan's lovely long list of things to do is to get it automated. The TD pages have many more changes and rates than others so it's a bit harder, but we're getting there.

To everyone,

Thankyou very much for your comments. The 12 hour days over the last few weeks were obviously worth it (now gonna have lots of fun catching up on the studies). I was near Auckland Uni on Friday night when Bernard and Bryan gave me the news so I ended up storming around the place looking for a free computer to make the post. Ended up convincing some poor student in the middle of an essay to let me use her computer for 15 mins (she looked like she needed a break anyway).

Cheers

Alex
