A one bedroom unit in the art deco Courtville building in the leafy streets behind Auckland's High Court which sold for $470,000 and a character three bedroom bungalow at St Albans in Christchurch which went for $215,000, were among the highlights from Bayleys auction rooms last week.
The Courtville apartment was at the back of the building and had no car park, but had a high stud and many of its original features such as timber floors and joinery. At $470,000 it was the cheapest Auckland home auctioned by Bayleys last week. The rates of $1459 a year and body corporate levy of $6785 would have helped to moderate the price.
Another "cheapie" Auckland home Bayleys auctioned last week was a two bedroom home unit in Henderson which went for $598,000.
A two bedroom/two bathroom apartment with two car parks in Grey Lynn sold for $787,500 and a home and income property in Flat Bush fetched $1.031 million.
In Mt Maunganui, a modern 260 square metre, four bedroom house at Papamoa sold for $765,000 while in Christchurch, a run down three bedroom bungalow in St Albans, was sold on an "as is" basis, (which usually means earthquake damaged) for $215,000.
