Harcourts has released the results of 217 properties marketed for auction over the last two weeks by its offices throughout Auckland, the Bay of Plenty, Taupo, the Wellington region and Christchurch.

Only four of the 119 Auckland properties sold for less than $500,000, with the cheapest being a a three bedroom duplex in Pukekohe that sold for $365,000.

If that didn't suit, you could have picked up a one bedroom, brick and tile home unit with a carport, in Pakuranga (pictured) which went for $415,000.

The most expensive sale in Auckland was a four bedroom, freehold house in St Johns which went for $2.7 million.

In the central North Island, auction selling prices started at $300,000 in Tauranga, and $490,000 in Taupo. Further down the line a house at Stokes Valley in Lower Hutt sold for $170,000, and another in Levin went for $110,000.

In Wellington City the lowest auction price was for an apartment in Berhampore which sold for $278,000.

In Christchurch prices ranged from $147,000 for a house in Aranui which was sold on an "as is, where is" basis, to $1.805 million for a house in Riccarton.
