A Pakuranga house that sold for $4.7m was one of five Auckland homes that sold for more than $2m at last week's Bayleys' auctions

A house at Sunnyhills in Auckland's eastern suburbs sold for $4.7 million when it was auctioned by Bayleys last week.

The waterfront property on an 1886 square metre section overlooking the Tamaki River between Pakuranga and Farm Cove, had four to five bedrooms and a swimming pool.

It was one of three homes in the eastern suburbs to sell for more than $2 million at last week's Bayleys auctions, the others being at Howick and Mellons Bay.

Homes in inner city Herne Bay and at Castor Bay on the North Shore also passed the $2 million mark at last week's auctions (see below for details).

At the other end of the price scale a two bedroom house in Mangere sold for $512,000 and a three bedroom house in Avondale went for $640,000.

The only Auckland house to sell for less than $500,000 was a three bedroom house in Papakura which went for $472,000.

A number of homes were also auctioned by Bayleys in Napier, with a contemporary, four bedroom house in Clive selling for $455,000.

In Christchurch a three bedroom house at Redwood sold under the hammer for $450,000.

See below for the full results of Bayleys' auctions last week, with details and photos of all properties, including those that didn't sell.

Deficient article, GN. Need buyers' surnames to decide upon how outraged to get.
