Bayleys sells three quarters of auction properties as prices in Mt Wellington head towards $1 million

Bayleys sold 22 of the 29 Auckland homes marketed for sale by auction last week, giving a clearance rate of 74% and in the Waikato Bayleys sold three of the seven rural properties it took to auction.

Of the 32 Auckland homes originally marketed for sale by auction, one was postponed and another withdrawn from sale and 22 were sold and eight passed in.

Among the highlights were a Grey Lynn villa that sold for $2.4 million, a development property with two rental dwellings on it in Orewa that went for $2.9 million, and a lifestyle property in Dairy Flat that fetched $3.91 million.

Prices of homes in Mt Wellington appear to be continuing along the road toward the $1 million mark, with a standard 1980s three bedroom house with external garage selling for $917,000.

In the Waikato several farming and lifestyle properties were taken to auction, with a 133 hectare dairy farm in Huntly selling for $4.29 million and a 38 hectare lifestyle block with a large, well appointed family home on it fetching $3.24 million.
