Prices of Auckland homes at this week's Bayleys auctions ranged from $669,000 for a two bedroom unit to $2.85m for St Mary's Bay villa

The cheapest property sold at this week's Bayleys auctions in Auckland was a unit in a managed student accommodation complex which went for $154,000, but the cheapest normal residential property was a two bedroom home unit in Forrest Hill on the North Shore which sold for $669,000.

At the other end of the price spectrum, the most expensive home at this week's auctions was a five bedroom character home on an 819 square metre section in St Mary's Bay that went for $2.85 million.

Other highlights were a renovated villa on a 6.1ha lifestyle block with sweeping sea views at Muriwai that sold for $960,000, and a two bedroom home unit in Devonport that fetched $734,000.

Down the line a couple of substantial family homes in Hamilton sold for well under $500,000, and a home on desirable Oceanbeach Rd in Mt Maunganui went for $790,000.
