MARKET REPORT CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE  6TH JUNE  2013

At Christchurch approx 6,800 bales. The offering was made up of approx – 5% Halfbred Fleece. 35% Xbd Fleece. 15% Xbd 2nd Shear. 25% 1st Lambs. Balance various Oddments and misc. The market compared to the last South Island sale 23rd May 2013 – Halfbred Fleece 27 to 31 micron nominally 2 to 3% dearer. Xbd Fleece BB/B style nominally unchanged. B style 3% dearer, B/C style 5% dearer. Xbd 2nd Shear 1 to 2% dearer. Xbd Oddments unchanged. Xbd 1st Lambs 29 micron and finer unchanged. 30 micron and coarser 2 to 5% dearer. Xbd 2nd Lambs unchanged. Passings approx 4%.

The NZ dollar today compared to the last South Island sale 23rd May 2013 via USD 0.7945 down 1.5%, via Euro 0.6065 down 3.3%, via Sterling 0.5155 down 3.8%.

Next week we have one wool sale on Thursday 13th June 2013 at Napier with approx 7,350 bales. (36% down on anticipated quantities)

MARKET REPORT NAPIER WOOL SALE 13TH JUNE 2013

At Napier 7,489 bales. The offering was made up of – 15% Xbd Fleece. 12% Xbd Hgt 2nd Shear. 48% Xbd 2nd Shear. 12% 1st Lambs. Balance various Oddments and misc. The market compared to the last North Island sale 30th May 2013 – Xbd Fleece all nominal BB/B and B style 7 to 8% dearer. B Minus and B/C style 10% dearer. Xbd 2nd Shear BB/B and B style 3/5 inch 8% dearer.  B Minus and B/C 10% dearer. 3/4 inch all styles 8 to 9% dearer. 2/3 and 2/4 inch all styles 6% dearer. Xbd 2nd Shear Hgts 31 to 35 micron 2/3 inch 5 to 6% dearer. Xbd Bulky Oddments nominally 10% dearer. Xbd 2nd Shear Oddments 10 to 12% dearer. Xbd 1st Lambs all nominal 2/3 inch 3% dearer. 3 inch and longer 1% dearer. Passings EPW 4.5%, overall 2%.

The NZ dollar today compared to the last North Island sale 30th May 2013 via USD 0.7970 down 2%, via Euro 0.5980 down 4.9%, via Sterling 0.5080 down 5.5%.

The next wool sales will be held on Thursday 27th June 2013.  At Christchurch approx 10,000 bales and at Napier approx 8,000 bales.
