Crossbred prices were erratic at today's South Island wool sale.

Hogget wool types struggled to find a level except for 34 to 35 micron which were firm.

Crossbred fleece of poorer colour struggled to extract good demand. Chinese interest was minimal.

Merino and halfbred prices met with good inquiry on the back of a rising market in Australia this week.

The NZ dollar today compared to the last  South Island sale 28-Sept- 2017, USD 0.7075 down 2.1%, Euro 0.5970 down 2.8%, Sterling 0.5355 down 0.6%, AUS 0.9090 down 1.1%

Next week we have a wool sale on Thursday 19-Oct 2017 at  Napier  with approximately 8,699  bales.
