MARKET REPORT CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE 10TH APRIL  2014

At Christchurch approx. 13,300 bales. The offering was made up of approx – 35% Xbd Fleece. 20% Xbd 2nd Shear. 25% Xbd 1st Lambs. Balance various Oddments and misc.

The market compared to the last South Island sale 27th March 2014 –

Xbd Fleece BB/B style unchanged. B style 1 to 2% dearer. B/C style 3 to 4% dearer.

Xbd 2nd Shear BB/B style 3/4 and 3/5 inch 2% cheaper, 2/4 1% dearer, 2/3 inch unchanged. B style 3/5 inch 1% dearer, 3/4 inch 2% dearer.

Xbd Bulky Oddments 4 to 6% dearer.

Xbd 2nd Shear Oddments generally unchanged.

Xbd 1st Lambs 2/3 inch 28.5 to 29.5 micron 3 to 4% cheaper, 30 micron and coarser 1 to 2% cheaper. 3 inch all microns 1 to 2% cheaper. 3/4 inch 30 to 31 micron 1% cheaper, 32 to 33 micron 1 to 2% dearer.

Xbd 2nd Lambs 2.5 to 5% cheaper.

Passings EPW 13.7%.

The NZ dollar today compared to the last South Island sale 27 March 2014 via USD 0.8710 up 1.3%, via Euro 0.6290 up 1%, via Sterling 0.5185 unchanged.

Next week we have one wool sale on Wednesday 16th April 2014 at Napier with approx. 8,200 bales.

MARKET REPORT NAPIER WOOL SALE 16TH APRIL 2014

At Napier 7,870 bales.  The offering was made up of – 16% Xbd Fleece. 45% Xbd 2nd Shear. 16% Xbd 1st Lambs. Balance various Oddments and misc.
The market compared to the last North Island sale 3rd April 2014 –

Xbd Fleece BB/B and B style nominally par to 2% dearer.B Minus to C style 1% dearer.

Xbd 2nd Shear BB/B and B style 3/4 and 3/5 inch 1 dearer, 2/4 and shorter generally unchanged. B Minus and B/C style all lengths generally unchanged with exception of B/C style 2/4 inch which were 1% dearer.

Xbd Bulky Oddments nominally 3 cheaper.

Xbd 2nd Shear Oddments Good colour 1 to 2% dearer, Ave/Inf 2% cheaper.

Xbd 1st Lambs Good colour par to 1% cheaper. Ave colour 1 to 2% cheaper.

Xbd 2nd Lambs par to 1% dearer.

Passings EPW 11%, overall 11%.

The NZ dollar today compared to the last North Island sale 3rd April 2014 via USD 0.8645 up 1.1%, via Euro 0.6260 up 0.7%, via Sterling 0.5170 up 0.6%.

Next week we have one wool sale on Thursday 24th April 2014 at Christchurch with approx. 12,500 bales.
