The Opening Bell: Where currencies start for Wednesday, January 22, 2014

By Dan Bell

Another quite night for both currency and equity markets while traders await Central Bank Monetary Policy Statements, starting today with the BOJ.

The NZD rallied after yesterdays CPI data with more economists predicting the RBNZ will raise the OCR on the 30/01/2014 - will make for an interesting statement.

The NZD opens this morning 0.8310 USD, 0.9442 AUD, 0.6128 EUR, 0.5044 GBP, 86.60 JPY, and CAD 0.9120.

Not much to report from NZ today. From Australia the focus will be on their Q4 CPI Data released at 1:30pm.
