This is one of Statistics NZ "secondary production" benchmarks, and would be a valuable leading indicator of construction activity if it was published in a more timely manner. Currently, data is released quarterly. Data for Auckland is often released slightly earlier than for other regions.

Our chart series only follows the Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch metropolitan areas, although the underlying Statistics NZ data covers all regions.
