The tabs in this chart series are sourced from both the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) quarterly Factsheets, and the HLFS employment data published by Statistics NZ. Data relating to Working-For-Families claimants is sourced from IRD annual reports, and is used as part of the determination of the total level of benefit claimants.

This chart series is updated quarterly, about four weeks after the end of each calendar quarter.

We are looking at a 3 year

We are looking at a 3 year report. Over this period unemplotment grew. It would be useful to look at the sitauation in 1993 when unemployment was higher.

The rise in over 65 year olds is not hard to predict. Paying for them was the reason the Cullen fund was started.
