90 at 9: Key against capital gains tax; US-style credit scoring

Bernard Hickey details the key news overnight in 90 seconds at 9am in association with ASB, including news the New Zealand dollar was solid at 64 USc despite a dip late on Friday after the Jakarta bombings. Meanwhile PM John Key said on Sunday he was opposed to a capital gains tax which he said was punitive and didn't work elsewhere. He said the government needed to focus on increasing housing supply first, but tax reform was needed.

Meanwhile Veda Advantage has launched a credit scoring system that is similar to the FICO system in the United States. There everyone knows their FICO score. It makes it easier for lenders and borrowers alike to know how credit-worthy someone is. It could lead to predatory lending.
