ANZ National puts single IT system plan on hold

ANZ National has disclosed it has put its plan to combine its Systematics (National Bank) and Hogan (ANZ) IT systems into a single IT system on hold for further review. The project, reported to be worth NZ$200 million, has been in the planning stages since early last year. "The initial evaluation phase is now complete," ANZ National spokeswoman Virginia Stracey-Clitheroe said. "We are committed to the path of establishing one common system, however we have realised that to achieve that we will have to take a slightly different route," she said. " Large, complex IT projects of this nature often require a flexible approach so we're not necessarily surprised at this outcome. We are now reviewing our options with a view to meeting the immediate needs of the business while we build on the what we have achieved to date to create a core systems roadmap for New Zealand and alignment with our wider strategic goals. Work will recommence next month." * This article was first published yesterday in our daily subscription newsletter for the banking and finance industries.
