BNZ and ASB now government guaranteed banks

Bank of New Zealand has joined ASB in being approved by the Treasury under the government's retail deposit guarantee scheme. Westpac is understood to have applied earlier this week. There is no word yet on ANZ National's status. BNZ and ASB join Citibank, Rabobank, TSB, Kiwibank and SBS Bank as approved banks.
