Prime Minister John Key is to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland next week.

The annual Swiss talkfest attracts several thousand political, business and economic leaders from around the world. Key will be accompanied by Trade Minister Tim Groser at Davos between January 21 and 23. Last year Finance Minister Bill English attended.

Key will also visit Britain, plus Bosnia and Herzegovina next week.

"In London, Mr Key will meet with Prime Minister David Cameron, Opposition Leader Ed Miliband, the Governor of the Bank of England and business leaders," a statement from Key's office says.

"The Prime Minister will then travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to Chair a meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Democrat Union and also meet with the President and the Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

Key was quoted describing Davos as an ideal platform to engage with key international influencers, on a wide range of issues of global importance, as well as to meet bilaterally with international counterparts.

Family member lives in Davos.  Went to the ATM to draw out some cash last night,  for the weekend.  'No transactions can be processed' was the machines's response.

Oh,well, I'm sure they will be processing transactions by the time the economic summit turns up. ;-)
