Auckland Airport is New Zealand's main airline hub. It is the largest airport in the country. In 2023 alone the airport served over 16 million passengers.

Carrie Hurihanganui was appointed CEO of Auckland International Airport in October 2021. Hurihanganui was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Air New Zealand where she worked for 21 years, overseeing pilots, cabin crew, engineering, and infrastructure. Hurihanganui is the first female Chief Executive in the company's 55-year history. Hurihanganui graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Business Studies, further completing many advanced studies including INSEAD, and Harvard.

Julia Hoare is a distinguished New Zealand business leader with extensive experience in governance, finance, and sustainability. She currently serves as Chair of both Auckland International Airport Limited and Port of Tauranga Limited, having joined the latter's board in August 2015 and assumed the role of Chair in August 2022. Additionally, Julia is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Meridian Energy Limited, where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. Before embarking on her governance career, she was a partner at PwC New Zealand for two decades, gaining expertise in finance, tax, regulatory matters, and sustainability. Her diverse board roles span sectors such as transport, infrastructure, energy, and fast-moving consumer goods.
