A superb offering of fine wool saw prices continue to move in a positive direction. Good competition from a full bench of buyers saw levels from 15 to 21 micron out stripping the Australian market for certain types.

The crossbred market for fleece and hogget wools moved in a positive direction with competition well spread.

The softening of the currency certainly prevented the market moving in a negative direction.

The NZ dollar today compared to the last  South Island sale 12-Oct- 2017, USD 0.6875 down 2.8%, Euro 0.5820 down 2.5%, Sterling 0.5185 down 3.2%, AUS 0.8930 down 1.8%

Next week we have a wool sale on Thursday 9-November 2017 at  Napier  with approximately 7,500  bales.
