Financial controller Antonia Watson, a New Zealander who has also worked in Hungary, to become ANZ NZ's new CFO from December

ANZ New Zealand says Antonia Watson will replace Nick Freeman as its chief financial officer from December 10.

Watson, whose appointment is subject to Reserve Bank approval, has been ANZ NZ’s financial controller since 2009.

Prior to that she worked for Morgan Stanley in Hungary as general manager of a business services and technology centre that served North America and Europe. She also worked for Morgan Stanley in Sydney as head of finance and infrastructure, and in finance roles in London.

Watson grew up in Auckland and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honours in accounting from Otago University. She received accounting qualifications while working for KPMG - ANZ's auditor - in Auckland.

ANZ NZ says Freeman will become chief financial officer for ANZ Australia.
