interest.co.nz needs a business or economics journalist to work from our Auckland office
We are hiring

We’re seeking a business journalist to work from our Auckland office.

You will ideally have a track record of reporting on macroeconomic issues, an understanding of the Reserve Bank's role, an understanding of how the financial sector works and be able to explain what it means and why it matters to a wide range of readers.

Variety is promised. Flexibility and adaptability will be necessary to help us maintain our trusted, independent reputation.

You'll be working online, and will need to be prepared to appear in front of a camera or microphone and engage via social media. Your work with us would not be behind any filters or paywalls, nor only appear in email newsletters. You can see our readership levels and demographics here.

Well-developed and clear writing and analytical skills are essential. Having an opinion and being able to articulate it would also help. You would be working with this experienced team of business journalists.

This is a full-time, salaried in-office role.

Applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

You can either contact us via this link, or directly.
