WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 opens the week with a +0.5% gain, rising +2.10% over the past five days. Year-on-year, the index is up +5.2%.
THE MAIN GAINERS
A total of 56 companies post gains today. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) leads the way, up +4%, though still down -2% over the last five days. Spark (SPK, #10) lifted +3%, despite falling -15% over the last six months and -38% year-on-year. SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #36) also gained +2%, but remains down -38% for the year. Turners Automotive (TRA, #40) climbed +2%, extending its strong run to +26% over six months and +56% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There are 26 decliners in the market. Chorus (CNU, #13) dropped -2%, though it is still up +9% year-on-year. Air New Zealand (AIR, #21) fell -1%, down -4% over the last six months but holding a +3% year-on-year gain. Mainfreight (MFT, #8) also slipped -1%, despite a +4% gain over the past five days. Year-on-year, Mainfreight is down -10%. Gentrack (GTK, #26) declined -1%, gaining +12% for the year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Northwest Healthcare Properties Management Limited, manager of Vital Healthcare Property Trust, has announced that Zachary Vaughan will be appointed as a Non-Independent Director on 12 August 2025, replacing Craig Mitchell. Mr Vaughan, recently named CEO of Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT, will represent the REIT on the Board. Independent Chair Graham Stuart thanked Mr Mitchell for his service and welcomed Mr Vaughan’s appointment.
