90 at 9: Chrysler files for Chapter 11; NZ$ loses overnight gains

Alex Tarrant details key news from overnight as the NZ dollar moved around quite a bit. Following the close of trading in New Zealand, it regained post-OCR losses, but fell again following news from the US including news that Chrysler had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. US consumer spending fell 0.2% in March after a 0.4% rise in February, and the number of new jobless claims in the US fell for the third week in a row.
