Mortgagee sales fall in January from December; mortgagee listings down late March

Actual mortgagee sales in Janauary fell to 150 or 4% of sales from 191 or 4.4% of sales in December, although the January figure was up 121% on the same month a year ago, Terralink data shows. Meanwhile, mortgagee sales listings (as opposed to actual sales) fell on both interest.co.nz and realestate.co.nz in the week to March 30. Total listings fell to 621 from a record high of 645 two weeks ago, with the biggest fall in listings being seen inside Auckland. These listings at the end of March are up from 217 at the end of March a year ago. The percentage of all listings that are mortgagee listings fell to 0.59% from 0.61% two weeks earlier.
