Fonterra Brands has announced a voluntary recall of five batches of Mainland Tasty blocks of cheers after it found metal fragments in a single pack.
Fonterra said it had not had any reports of anyone being injured or becoming ill.
“The voluntary recall is a precautionary measure as there can be no compromise when it comes to product quality or the health and safety of our consumers," Fonterra Brands' GM of Marketing and Innovation Dominic Quin said.
“We advise anyone with family or friends who may have bought this product to contact them in case they do not see or hear this announcement,” Quin said.
Consumers should not consume the blocks and should return them to the point of purchase (with the appropriate packaging (batch code included)) for a full refund, Fonterra said.
