Today we are launching a new feature for readers, a quiz. Anyone can play, including friends and colleagues. (Just send this as a link.)
It is in the 'pub quiz' style, with questions generally relevant to our content, largely about the economy and financial system. There are history aspects included.
We have partnered with Qwizard to deliver this feature, which we hope you enjoy. A new version will be available every Monday.
There are no prizes, except the satisfaction of playing. You do not have to log in to play. But if you supply your email address, we can send you the results and show how your benchmarked with other players.
This feature is independent of our registration and PressPatron system, so anyone can play. (It won't recognise your registration / log in details. Besides, we never asked logged in users for permission to use their details elsewhere. And we won't.)
The quiz will be open Monday (about 8am) to Sunday (about 4pm). Results will be emailed Monday morning. Answers are available as soon as you finish the quiz if you need them. The next week version will then show.
We are interested in your feedback. Logged in readers can use the Comment section below.

60%. About par for high school level. Still trying.
7/10.
It is surprising the amount of useless info that is rattling around in my middle aged noggin.
Thanks, that's a fun thing to do and instructive! Got 8 out of 10 (Welch and old NZD 10 note wrong)
9/10. Ron died in 2004 not 2009.
Well done for having the highest score Golem, but giving away an answer publicly, hence ruining the quizz for others, is probably not the smartest move.
Who reads the comments first??
6/10
My takeaway.Don't think about you answer and go back and change it.
Ditto.
7/10. Happy enough with that, definitely tougher than the Stuff quiz 😂
6/10. Not sure if I need to read more or be older to catch up on financial lore that originated during or before my childhood... Or just laugh and not give a damn.
Interesting philosophical question you ask: When we don't know something, do we learn more or laugh it off and not give a damn. The answer will shape our life.
Have you gotten a lot of value for your time reading about the tenureship of people like Jack Welch, Yvil? Was it worth your time?
7/10, not bad. Wasn't old enough for pocket money when the $2 note existed!
80%. More luck than knowledge. A good edition to your website David, thanks.
8/10,
Got Denon and AirNZ questions wrong, but took a lucky punt on a few others
6 out of 10, but 2 of those were lucky guesses, to go with 4 unlucky guesses.
7/10. I'm colorblind so $2 note question unfair :) , and SET and Estonia I double guessed myself, shoulda gone with my instinct. Solid, if not spectacular.
