Here are the key things you need to know about in the NZX markets over the past 24 hours. Changes are as at 3:00 pm and may change when the market closes at 4:45 pm.

WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 has edged down -0.3% so far today. The index is now down -2.4% over the past six months, but remains up +8.3% year-on-year.

THE MAIN GAINERS
Among the top performers, Stride Property Group (SPG, #38) climbed +3% today and is up +6% over the past five days. Oceania Healthcare (OCA, #43) also lifted +3%, extending its 5-day rally to +7% and standing out with a +36% gain year-on-year. Vista Group (VSL, #33) gained +2% but remains down -19% over the past six months. Ryman Healthcare (RYM, #18) added +2% and has surged +45% over the past six months.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
Decliners outnumber gainers with 44 stocks in the red. Serko (SKO, #48) dropped -2%, extending a -3% dip over the past five days and sitting -20% down year-to-date. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) also shed -2% today and is down -40% for both the year and past six months. Summerset Group (SUM, #16) slipped -1%, but remains +21% up year-on-year. Tourism Holdings (THL, #45) dipped -1%, falling -4% across the past five sessions.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sky Network (SKT, #47 has appointed David Mackrell as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective January 2026. Mackrell, named Brightstar CFO of the Year in 2024, is currently CFO of NZME and previously held senior finance roles at Heartland Bank and Air New Zealand. CEO Sophie Moloney says his extensive experience with listed companies and major consumer brands will be a valuable asset to the Sky leadership team.

Synlait Milk has announced that Chief Operating Officer Paul Mallard will resign and depart the company in December 2025. CEO Richard Wyeth acknowledged Mallard’s significant contribution to operational and strategic priorities, including improvements across the North Island network and the broader value chain. The company has now begun the search for his replacement.

a2 Milk Company (ATM, #9) will release its FY25 financial results for the year ended 30 June 2025 on Monday 18 August 2025.
