WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 is closing in on a flat result, on track for a +2.0% July gain but down -1.0% over the past six months although still up +3.7% year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
Gains are seen across 46 stocks, led by Sky Network (SKT, #48), which has risen +3% and is now up +1% over the past five days and +24% over six months. Precinct Properties (PCT, #21) lifted +2%, bringing its six-month gain to +4% and year-on-year growth to +5%. SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #35) also climbed +2%, though it remains down -26% over six months and -34% year-on-year. Tower (TWR, #41) gains +1% and continues its strong run, up +35% over six months and +54% over the year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
Meanwhile, 23 stocks decline. Mainfreight (MFT, #8) leads the deliners, down -3% today, -12% over five days, and -22% year-on-year. Skellerup (SKL, #31) slipped -1%, down -6% over six months, but still up +7% year-on-year. Spark (SPK, #11) also dropped -1%, down -2% over the past five days and -44% for the year. Serko (SKO, #49) fell -1% as well, bringing its six-month loss to -25% and its annual decline to -22%.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Warehouse Group (WHS) has appointed Shayne Tong as Chief Digital & Transformation Officer, effective 28 August 2025. This newly created executive role aims to accelerate the Group’s transformation by enhancing technology use, reducing costs, and improving customer experience. Incoming CEO Mark Stirton says Tong brings the digital strategy and transformation leadership needed to unlock value. Tong was previously Chief Digital Officer at Foodstuffs South Island and has held senior roles at Genesis Energy, Fletcher Building, Auckland DHB, and global banks including ANZ and Goldman Sachs.
Infratil (IFT, #4) has released its FY2025 Climate Related Disclosures (CRD), covering the year to 31 March 2025. This marks the company’s third CRD report and second under the mandatory NZ Climate Standards. Infratil says the report maintains consistency with its FY2024 CRD to aid comparability, while also expanding disclosures to meet updated requirements. The CRD should be read alongside Infratil’s FY2024 Sustainability Report and FY2025 Annual Report.
