WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 is very little changed today, though the index is up +2.1% over the past five days and remains +7.9% higher year‑on‑year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
Among 43 gainers, Skellerup (SKL, #32) and Briscoe Group (BGP, #27) led the board with +3% gains. Both stocks are up +5% over the past five days, with Skellerup up +16% year‑on‑year and Briscoe up +9%. Ryman Healthcare (RYM, #18) rose +2%, extending a five‑day gain of +9%, though it remains -34% lower over the year. Gentrack (GTK, #29) added +1%, but is down -12% year‑on‑year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
Of the 32 decliners, Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50), EBOS Group (EBO, #9), Genesis Energy (GNE, #16) and Sky Network Television (SKT, #48) all fell -2%. Kathmandu is up +4% over the past five days but remains -46% lower year‑on‑year. EBOS has dropped -10% in the past month and -19% over the year. Genesis is up +9% over six months and +11% year‑on‑year, while Sky TV has gained +29% in the past month and +20% over the year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Warehouse Group (WHS) reported FY25 results showing a +1.6% lift in group sales to $3.1bln, with flat same‑store performance. Operating profit fell to $1.3mln (from $28.9mln), while net loss after tax narrowed to $2.8mln. Sales rose at The Warehouse (+1.4%) and Noel Leeming (+3.3%), but fell at Warehouse Stationery (‑2.5%). Gross margin declined to 32.2%, matching a reduced cost of doing business. Capital expenditure was tightly managed at $12.4mln, and net debt stood at $96.1mln due to year‑end timing. No dividend was declared.
Mercury NZ (MCY, #5) has appointed Suraiya Phillimore‑Smith as Chief Customer Officer, effective the 3rd of November. She brings over 20 years’ experience across financial services, telecommunications and technology, including executive roles at Suncorp NZ and Westpac NZ. Former COO Craig Neustroski remains with Mercury as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer to support the transition.
