WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The index has remained flat today gaining +0.9% over the past five days. Over the last six months it now gains +4.6%, up +4.9% year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 37 gainers today with Vista Group (VGL, #46) getting a +5% lift. Although the sharp movement today, Vista's share price is still down -8% over the past five days. Ryman Healthcare (RYM, #16) gained +3%, up +12% over the past six months. Year-on-year Ryman has declined by -31%. Skellerup Holdings (SKL, #31) and Gentrack (GTK, #35) both gained +2%. Skellerup has gained +9% over the past six months, and gains +1% year-on-year as Gentrack declines by -7% over the past five days, dropping a heavy -47% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
There were 30 decliners on the board, with the biggest drop by Heartland Group Holdings (HGH, #28) who fell by -3%. Over the last month the stock advances +6%, up +11% year-on-year. Summerset Group Holdings (SUM, #17) declined by -2%, down -9% month-on-month. Year-on-year Summerset is down -13%. Kiwi Property Group (KPG, #22) and Infratil (IFT, #4) both declined by -1%. Kiwi Property Group declines by -6% over the past month, gaining +8% year-on-year. Infratil declines -6% month-on-month, falling -1% year-on-year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Oceania Healthcare (OCA, #42) has appointed Sarah Ottrey as an independent director, effective the 5th of February. She brings extensive governance and commercial experience, including roles with Christchurch Airport, Whitestone Cheese, Skyline Enterprises and others. Director Sally Evans will retire at the next Annual Shareholder Meeting. The Board says these changes form part of its planned refresh and succession strategy.
Fonterra’s René Dedoncker has resigned as Managing Director Global Markets Consumer to take up a role outside the Co‑op. He has been with Fonterra since 2005 and has held several senior leadership roles, including leading the Mainland Group business since March 2025. Dedoncker will stay on through his six‑month notice period to support the completion of the Mainland Group divestment and transition to Lactalis. CEO Miles Hurrell thanked him for his contribution and leadership.
