KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
SkyCity (SKC, #33) has appointed Blair Woodbury as its new Chief Financial Officer, starting the 9th of March. He joins from Devoli, where he has been CFO since 2021, and has previously held senior finance roles at Sky Network Television, New Zealand Post, McKinsey & Company and PwC. CEO Jason Walbridge said Woodbury’s background in cost management, asset optimisation and capital discipline aligns well with SkyCity’s current priorities. The appointment is still subject to regulatory approvals.

Meridian Energy (MEL, #2) says January was another wet month, with high lake levels and strong water and snow storage putting the company in a good position heading into autumn. Spilling in the Waitaki and Waiau catchments pushed wholesale prices very low, with Meridian’s average generation price just over $1 per megawatt hour. National hydro storage fell during the month, but inflows remained above average, and year‑to‑date inflows are the second‑highest on record. Retail sales were up +2.9% on last year, with strong growth in residential, SME and large business customers, while agriculture and corporate sales were lower.
