WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
As at 3pm, the overall NZX50 index is up +1.6% so far today. It is heading for a +4.2% weekly rise, and down -2.1% from six months ago. From a year ago it is up a net +11.7%.
THE MAIN GAINERS
The NZX 50 Index extended its gains for a second consecutive session, supported by strength across key index players. Freightways (FRW, #17) led the market, rising +7% gaining +12% over the past five days, with its year-on-year performance now up +32%. Air New Zealand (AIR, #24) and Stride Property Group (SPG, #41) both advanced +5%, with Air New Zealand lifting +14% over the past week despite remaining down -18% year-on-year, while Stride is down -1% month-on-month and -24% over six months but up +3% annually. Auckland International Airport (AIA, #3) also posted a solid gain of +4%, taking its year-on-year increase to +8%.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
Decliners were more broadly spread, with 21 stocks closing lower. Turners Automotive (TRA, #35) fell -2%, though it remains up +20% over six months and +49% year-on-year. Heartland Group Holdings (HGH, #27) also declined -2%, down -5% month-on-month but still up +60% year-on-year. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #49) slipped -1%, extending its sharp losses to -47% over the past month and -63% year-on-year. Channel Infrastructure (CHI, #26) eased -1%, while maintaining gains of +11% month-on-month and +64% over the past year.

Synlait Milk (SML) has announced the resignation of Chief Supply Chain & Technology Officer Robert Stowell, who will depart in July 2026 to pursue a new opportunity.
Goodman Property (GMT, #15)) has been assigned an investment-grade credit rating of BBB with a stable outlook by S&P Global Ratings, while its senior secured debt facilities, including bonds, have been rated one notch higher at BBB+, reflecting the strength of its capital structure.
