WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 is pushing higher today, currently up +0.3%, despite remaining down -1.1% over the last five days and -0.8% over the past month. The index continues to hold a solid +7.6% year-on-year gain.
THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 48 gainers on the board today, EBOS Group (EBO, #11) led the market higher, rising +2%, although it remains under pressure longer term, down -26% over six months and -41% year-on-year. Tower Limited (TWR, #40) also gained +2%, building on strong recent momentum with a +9% monthly rise and an impressive +52% gain over the last year. Scales Corporation (SCL, #33) lifted +2%, supported by +2% month-on-month growth and a strong +45% year-on-year performance. Genesis Energy (GNE, #16) added +2%, extending its monthly gain to +11% and remaining up +12% annually.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
On the downside with 32 decliners, The NZX (NZX, #45) declined -1%, despite holding a +5% monthly gain, though it remains down -11% over both six months and year-on-year. Channel Infrastructure (CHI, #26) also eased -1%, but continues to show strength with a +12% six-month gain and a strong +57% annual rise. a2 Milk Company (ATM, #7) slipped -1%, with ongoing weakness evident in its -25% monthly decline and -20% six-month drop, although it remains slightly positive year-on-year. Mainfreight (MFT, #8) fell -1%, trimming recent momentum as it holds a modest +1% gain over both the month and six months.

Synlait Milk (SML) has announced the resignation of Chief Quality Officer Hila Mory, marking the departure of a key senior leader within the business. CEO Richard Wyeth acknowledged Mory’s significant contribution, highlighting her role in strengthening Synlait’s quality performance, including the delivery of a new Quality Strategy and the rollout of the company-wide Synlait Care programme.
