Description of trading activities
Sanford has been a part of the New Zealand fishing industry for more than 150 years. Currently Sanford is New Zealand’s largest fishing and aquaculture business with an extensive range of work from Stewart Island, right through to Auckland. Their Global presence is strong as well with importing and exporting in Australia, and China.
Chairman profile
Sir Robert McLeod is the chairman of Sanford, and has been since 2019. McLeod was appointed onto the board in 2016, and then appointed to Deputy Chair in 2018. McLeod has extensive experience as a chairman as he is also the Chairman of Quayside Holdings Limited and Ngati Porou Holdings. CEO profile
Appointed to the Board in 2021, Craig Ellison is the interim CEO of Sanford. Ellison has a wide array of experience not only in the fishing industry, but also in Tourism as he is the Chair of the Wellington Zoo. To add onto his experience in the fishing industry, Ellison has also been involved with his whānau business, Õtākau, where he was managing finance, and strategy. Craig graduated from the University of Otago with a masters of Zoology, and is a proud member of the Te Hono Group (Class of 2015).
