A big week in Harcourts' auction rooms around the country but not much sells for under $500,000 in Auckland

There were only two homes in Auckland that sold for less than $500,000 at last week's Harcourts auctions - a  two bedroom home unit in Papakura that sold for $305,000, and a three bedroom house in Papatoetoe that sold for $460,000.

After that the cheapest was a four bedroom house in Papakura (pictured) that went for $540,000.

In Napier prices started at $415,000 for a house in Taradale, in New Plymouth a newly renovated bungalow in central New Plymouth fetched $331,000, and in Lower Hutt a five bedroom house on a large section went for $380,000.

It was a busy week at Harcourts auction rooms in Christchurch with 29 homes going under the hammer and selling prices ranging for $192,000 to $1.562 million.
