A leaky building didn't deter buyers at the latest Auckland apartment auctions

There was a bit more life at the main Auckland apartment auctions this week, although activity remains well below where it was a few months ago.

At Barfoot & Thompson's apartment auction two units were on offer, a 36 square metre studio in the Heritage building on Hobson Street, and a two bedroom shoebox (37 square metres) in The Crescent building on Eden Crescent.

There were multiple bidders for the Heritage unit and it sold under the hammer. However, there was only one bidder for The Crescent unit and it was passed in for sale by negotiation.

Ray White City Apartments had three apartments scheduled to go under the hammer but one was withdrawn from the auction prior to it commencing although it remained on the market, which left two units in the Spencer on Byron in Takapuna to be auctioned.

The Spencer on Byron is a leaky building that is scheduled for remediation. Nonetheless there were multiple bidders for one unit and a single bidder for the other. Both were sold under the hammer.

The full results with the prices achieved on the units that sold are available on our Residential Auction Results page.

TL;DR Five miserable dog boxes were for sale. Three dogs found a kennel. Some of the kennels leaked.
