ANZ New Zealand is opening a branch it's calling its first home centre today.
The North Shore Home Centre is located in Albany Mall opposite one of ANZ's existing branches.
Touted as a "home-away-from-home," ANZ says the home centre's for "everything from buying a house to starting a business." An ANZ spokesman said the bank's assessing whether other locations are suitable to introduce a similar concept to the Albany home centre in the future.
"Laid out like an inviting lounge complete with comfy couches, customers can relax and talk about their dream home to a team of experts away from the bustle of the mall," said Fred Ohlsson, ANZ’s managing director of retail and business banking.
Ohlsson said the home centre was an example of how ANZ is moving towards interactive branches.
“Today, we recognise that finding the right home loan is an important decision, and its one that’s best made in a relaxing environment where people can take their time, think clearly and get the loan that fits their needs perfectly,” he said.
The home centre will also be used for hosting events such as free seminars on buying and investing in property, and starting, running or growing a business. ANZ says the home centre will have staff who speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, and Korean.
