WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 closed with a building -0.6% decline, though the index remains +1.4% higher month-on-month, +6.8% stronger over six months, and +6.7% ahead year-on-year.
THE MAIN GAINERS
On the main board, 43 gainers were recorded. Kathmandu Brands (KMD, #50) led with a +4% rise, though its share price remains -3% lower month-on-month and -31% down year-on-year. Freightways Group (FRW, #19) advanced +2%, extending gains to +9% for the month, +41% over six months, and +40% year-on-year. SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #36) and Vista Group (VGL, #40) each added +1%. SkyCity is +4% higher for the month but -41% lower year-on-year, while Vista has fallen -24% over six months and -7% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
Meanwhile, 42 decliners nearly offset the gainers. Vital Healthcare Property (VHP, #23) posted the sharpest fall, down -9% today and -15% for the month, though still +1% higher year-on-year. Serko (SKO, #49) and a2 Milk (ATM, #7) each declined -2%. Serko is -16% lower month-on-month and -41% down year-on-year, while a2 Milk remains resilient, +6% higher for the month and +97% stronger year-on-year. EBOS Group (EBO, #9) eased -1%, extending losses to -28% over six months and -24% year-on-year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Vital Healthcare Property Trust (VHP, #23): Northwest Healthcare Properties Management has completed a $190mln placement at $1.95 per unit, forming the central part of a $220mln capital raising to fund internalisation of management. The placement was fully subscribed, with strong support from both existing and new investors.
SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #36): The New Zealand Gambling Commission has renewed SkyCity Queenstown’s casino licence for 15 years from December, ensuring continued operations under the Gambling Act 2003. CEO Jason Walbridge welcomed the decision, highlighting SkyCity’s role in Queenstown’s entertainment sector.
