WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The index is heading towards a -0.3% dip today, down -5.8% from this time last month. Year-on-year it gains +4.5%.
THE MAIN GAINERS
There were 46 gainers across the NZX equity market today. Gentrack (GTK, #36) led the advances, rising +6%, although the stock remains down -13% month-on-month and -37% year-on-year. Freightways (FRW, #18) and Serko (SKO, #49) both gained +3%, with Freightways down -13% over the month but up +18% year-on-year, while Serko has rebounded +16% over the past five days, though it remains down -58% annually. Air New Zealand (AIR, #24) also lifted +2%, despite being down -20% month-on-month and -30% year-on-year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
A total of 26 decliners weighed on the market. a2 Milk (ATM, #7) and Infratil (IFT, #4) led the declines, both falling -3%. a2 Milk is down -3% month-on-month but remains up +29% year-on-year, while Infratil is down -9% over the past six months and up +12% annually. Meridian Energy (MEL, #2) declined -2%, down -4% over the month and -6% year-on-year. Tourism Holdings (THL, #44) eased -1%, falling -12% month-on-month but maintaining a +21% year-on-year gain.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tourism Holdings (THL, #44) has completed the sale of its UK and Ireland business, effective the 31st of March, following its previously announced divestment in February.
Genesis Energy (GNE, #16) has appointed Emma Oettli as Chief Financial Officer, effective the 15th of April. Currently General Manager of Portfolio Management, Oettli has been instrumental in advancing the company’s growth strategy and brings extensive experience across finance and the energy sector.
Argosy Property (ARG, #32) has announced the unconditional sale of 143 Lambton Quay, Wellington, for $6.0 mln, in line with its valuation. The asset had previously been identified for disposal, with settlement expected in May, and proceeds to be used to reduce bank debt.
