WHAT THE NZX 50 INDEX IS DOING
The NZX50 has risen +0.2% today after the OCR announcement, but is down over the past five trading days by -1.5%. The benchmark is a little higher over the past month, up +0.3%, while it has gained +1.1% over the past six months and +5.2% over the past year. There were 41 companies recording gains compared to 37 decliners.
THE MAIN GAINERS
Among the gainers, Sanford (SAN, #39) has risen +2%, although the stock remains down -1% over the past five trading days and -15% over the past six months, while it is up +20% over the past year. Chorus (CNU, #12) has also gained +2%, despite being -2% lower over the past five days, -6% lower over the past month and -7% lower over the past year. Vital Healthcare (VHP, #22) added +2%, taking its one-month decline to -4% and six-month decline to -6%, while the stock is down -12% over the past year. Kiwi Property Group (KPG, #21) increased +2% but remains down -2% over five days, -4% over the past month and -13% over the past year.

THE MAIN DECLINERS
Among the decliners, Gentrack (GTK, #47) fell -3%, although the stock remains up +23% over the past month while sitting -44% lower over the past six months and -55% lower over the past year. SkyCity Entertainment (SKC, #37) declined -3%, extending its five-day fall to -7%, while it remains +1% higher over the past month and is down -9% over the past year. Hallenstein Glassons (HLG, #42) fell -2%, despite gains of +3% over five days, +9% over the past month and +32% over the past year. Sky Network Television (SKT, #46) slipped -1%, although it has gained +4% over the past five days and +14% over the past month, while the stock is up +18% over the past year.

KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Fonterra expects FY26 underlying earnings to be at the top end of its previously announced 60-70 cents per share range, citing a solid performance throughout the financial year. The co-operative expects this to support a strong final dividend, with its dividend policy targeting 60-80% of full-year earnings. Final FY26 earnings and the full-year dividend remain subject to the completion of the financial statements and audit, with the results due to be announced on the 24th of September.
Mercury Energy (MCY, #6) Chief Operating Officer of Generation Kevin Taylor has advised he will retire and leave the company at the end of 2026. Taylor joined Mercury in 2025 and was credited with strengthening the company’s operational and safety leaderhip, as well as the operation and maintenance of its generation assets.
Port of Tauranga (POT, #9) has completed the sale of its 6.84-hectare property at 345 Neilson Street, Onehunga, to Trade Depot for $88.7 mln. The site, known as Gateside, comprises 17,779 sqm of buildings and is zoned for heavy industrial use. The sale forms part of Port of Tauranga’s capital recycling programme, with proceeds to be redirected towards strategic infrastructure projects supporting the port’s long-term growth and core freight operations. Trade Depot, an existing tenant, plans to use the property to support its continued business growth and expansion in Auckland.
