Description of trading activities

Briscoe Group Limited is a New Zealand–owned retail group behind two of the country’s most recognisable brands: Briscoes Homeware and Rebel Sport. Briscoes specialises in home essentials, offering everything from kitchenware and small appliances to bedding and home décor. Rebel Sport caters to the sporting and active lifestyle market, with a wide range of gear—from workout equipment to clothing and accessories across multiple sports.

CEO profile

Rod Duke is a veteran of the retail industry, with a career spanning over four decades across Australia and New Zealand. He became Managing Director of Briscoes NZ in 1988, leading its turnaround and eventual purchase by his family trust in 1990. In 1996, he founded Rebel Sport in New Zealand under the Briscoe Group banner. Rod has remained at the helm through the company’s public listing in 2001 and continues to lead the business today, with the RA Duke Trust as its majority shareholder.

Chairman profile

Dame Rosanne Meo is one of New Zealand’s most respected business leaders, with decades of experience across governance and leadership. In 2012, she was appointed a Dame for her services to business and governance.
