Auction blue sign

A winter chill has definitely settled over the auction rooms with the number of properties on offer dropping to the second lowest point so far this year.

Interest.co.nz monitored the auctions of 263 residential properties over the week of 27 June to 3 July.

The only time that has been lower this year was in the short week immediately following the Easter break, when 245 properties were offered.

Of the 263 properties offered at the latest auctions, 90 sold under the hammer, giving an overall sales rate of 34%.

Of the 90 properties that sold, the barest majority (51%) achieved prices equal to or above their respective rating valuations.

So all in all, residential auction activity remains subdued.

The table below shows the results from around the country.

Details of the individual properties offered at all of the auctions monitored by interest.co.nz, including the selling prices of those that sold, are available on our Residential Auction Results page.

Auction fee still get paid I guess.

But 34% sold with the statically worse months to come. Yikes for ponzi leverage. Throw in all the noise on tax as the election ebbs closer, the next three months be worse..
