PM and National leader Christopher Luxon punishes Chris Penk, saying he 'launched a leadership challenge', removes portfolios

This is going to be NZ's first one-term govt since 1975. Quite astonishing really, given how many National MPs were voted into power just 3 short years ago. This is largely thanks to the poor leadership shown by of our prime minister. Today was National's last chance to salvage what is certainly going to be a heavy defeat in November's election. 

Well he would do that wouldn’t he. Knee jerk reaction attempting to impress all and sundry that there is a strong arm in office.So you had better watch out! You do not fix a problem by finding someone else to blame for your own shortcomings and which led directly to the situation of today.   Sometimes I wonder if this Prime Minister schooled himself for a political career via the  Junior Woodchuck Manual, that was so handy to Donald Duck’s nephews.

It's very cynical of them to think that the public is stupid enough to believe that Penk was the ring-leader

Oh so all those commentators saying this was just a media beat up can eat humble pie. Can’t  trust any of them. If it’s not Simeone lying blatantly to Jack Tame it’s this muppet (and Erica and Bishop) flatly denying they wern’t behind a coup. 

Engineered? They say this works well for Labour, but perhaps it makes the public feel pity for Luxon, and gets a lot of publicity for National. All publicity is good publicity? 

It's all a bit confusing. Was Penk going for PM? That was never happening, why bother with all this? Or is Penk the scapegoat? What about Stanford?

It seems crazy cynical to boot out one of your team's few reasonably competent, somewhat popular ministers because he thought you weren't doing a great job.

It's not often that there is such a public admission that the point of this is power for power's sake. Not that you think your and your team can deliver better outcomes than the other guys.

Now let me recall - was it not Chris Penk who was one of the very few incumbent NZ MPs to explicitly question the wisdom, implementation, and mandatory nature of the Government's rollout of Covid-19 plandemic response?



Also the deployment of an experimental jab that has since proven, within a huge cohort, to massively increase the all-cause morality rate of recipients.



And was it not Mr Luxon, Winnie, and Seymour who were loudly lambasting the Labour government for not getting ALL Kiwis rounded up and jabbed anywhere fast enough, with these gene-editing toxins.



Coincidence/... payback/... it all sounds mighty suspect to me.



In March of 2022, Penk made headlines when he accepted, on the steps of Parliament, a 12,000-signature petition from an advocacy group called "Silent No More".



The petition called for the Centre of Adverse Reactions Monitoring (CARM) to formally investigate all reported post-vaccine symptoms as legitimate injuries.



Needless to say the petition died in committee and was "noted", but subsequently closed without being elevated for a full parliamentary debate or law change.



Since then Penk has been critical of the lack of transparency regarding official health advice, including this year regarding the political fallout over whether former ministers ignored warnings about completely irresponsible myocarditis risks in teenagers.



He also questioned the abuse of state power and the rushing of fast-tracked legislation without democratic debate.



Just me, but IMO Penk has repeatedly demonstrated more courage and moral fibre than all of the other 119 MPs combined. 



How dare he question political process, democratic rights, personal choice, and the operational flaws of the entire governmental response. 



Not to mention informed consent, and specifically the right to informed refusal, which as far as I know is still protected under NZ law by Section 11 of the NZ Bill of Right Act 1990.



How dare he!!!

High time he was thrown under a bus.

I for one do not think C Penk was any good in his role as Minister for Construction and Housing. Employed or was assigned a gatekeeper, who I think was a past National Party President, Michelle Boag. Clearly unable to manage by exception or discern what is relevant or not relevant to this particular portfolio.
