KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Infratil (IFT, #4) and the NZ Super Fund have agreed to sell their 100% stake in RetireAustralia to Invesco Real Estate for A$845m, with the deal expected to complete in Q4 2025, subject to FIRB and other conditions. Infratil anticipates proceeds of ~A$300m (NZ$328m), though the sale will result in an accounting loss of approximately NZ$80m. While the investment has delivered an IRR close to nil over the 11-year holding period, Infratil says the divestment aligns with its strategy to exit non-scalable assets and improve balance sheet flexibility. The transaction also contributes to its broader $1b divestment target and will trigger a forecast NZ$21m negative realised incentive fee to be offset against other fees.
Air New Zealand (AIR, #22) shows group capacity down -0.7% year-on-year, with Long Haul ASKs falling -1.3%, Domestic down -0.5%, and Short Haul International up +0.4%. The declines reflect ongoing global engine maintenance challenges limiting aircraft availability. Despite this, group YTD underlying RASK has improved +1.9% year-on-year, with Short Haul RASK up +0.9% and Long Haul RASK up +2.0%.
